SKETCH TOOLS in sketcher workbench are used to create profiles and to edit if required. you can also apply constrains.

This is murari,
It is the basic and most important tool in Catia, by this tool you can make any geometrical profile, after that you can make a solid by these profile.

I am Javed,
Before making any solid or surface you have to make a 2-D profile, to make these profile you need the Sketch tool.
