Differences between 2D & 3D Coordinate ?

I want simple and accurate answer of, Differences between 2D & 3D Coordinate ?

In 2D Co-ordinate system there are two axis are there and are mutually perpendicular to each other also called rectangular system. But in 3D Co-ordinate system there are three axes are there and all mutually perpendicular to each other at an angle of 90 degree it is called polar coordinate system.

The difference between 2D and 3D is that, 2D co-ordinate system works on X and Y axis and 3D coordinate works on X, Y and Z axis.
