Hi Pragya I am Azeem,
Dressing is use to avoid slip. Between the inner and outer surface of belt and pulley.

I am Navjot,
Dressing is used to increase friction between belt and pully, So that slip doesn’t occur between them.

Dressing of belt is done with the help of spray which increases the friction of belt then less slip occurs.
