What is the difference between Mirror and Symmetry ?

hello friend can somebody tell me what is difference b/w mirror and symmetry and how can i do it..?

In Mirror the object get replica (copy) and in symmetry the object get move about the symmetry plane or line.

I am Farahan,
By using mirror command we get the same profile or part about the user defined reference line or plane with the same dimensions but by symmetry command, the object is transferred about the reference.

From a long time I have one doubt that, In Generative shape design why mirror command is not there, and in Part design both command is there?
