What do CATIA P1, CATIA P2 AND CATIA P3 mean?

What do CATIA P1, CATIA P2 AND CATIA P3 mean?

I am using CATIA from last 2 years, can any one tell me, what do CATIA P1, CATIA P2 AND CATIA P3 mean? :?

It shows the user interface like P1, P2 and P3, it also indicate the different types of platforms of CATIA.

This is Tanmay,
'P' denotes the platform of the CATIA, wheres 'V' denotes the version and 'R' for release. there are 3 platforms available in CATIA V5, thees are P1, P2 and P3.
