Difference between Pocket command and Hole command?

Postby Murari » Thu Jul 27, 2017 6:56 pm

Hello every one,
This is murari doing engineering in Automobile, for designing purpose I am learning Catia, It’s a quite intrusting tool. But while working on it I have a doubt which is not cleared yet and the doubt is, Pocket command and Hole command act as a same then what is the purpose to differentiate this in two commands, and if there is a reason then what is the difference between these two.

Hi murari,
Hope you are doing well, pocket and hole command both were used to remove material, but the major difference between in this two is pocket is based on any kind of shape where hole is based on circular shape. Some time to avoid multi commands we use Hole command as per the requirement. Requirement like if you need a hole having taper face or chamfer edge then with the help of Hole command you can perform it easily where with the help of Pocket it is little bit difficult to perfoem this kind of a actions. Hope it help to clear your doubt.
