Why we use Direct modeling technique in UG NX?

Why we use Direct modeling technique in UG NX ? is there any other methods are there,
if yes please share.

Direct modeling technique is helpful when we had imported CAD data from other software to NX and through direct modeling we can easily edit it. It help in Blend regeneration, oriented operation, constrain based and etc.
