What is the purpose behind doing simulation?

Kindly tell me what is the purpose behind doing simulation? is it necessary to simulate object for manufacturing?

Simulation is a technique where we check the operation of a real- work process or system over time. Basically simulation required that a model to be developed so that it represents the characteristic or behaviors/functions of selected system or process. It used to optimize the performance, safety engineering and testing. It is also used to show the real effects in the alternative conditions or course of action.
These are few points which are measures of system performance –
a) Check it under average and peak loads.
b) System cycle time
c) How to utilize the resources.
d) Bottle neck and checkpoint.
e) Effective control system.
