Hydraulic can bear higher forces and precise motion than that of pneumatic, so mainly in heavy machinery hydraulic is used.

Hydraulic is used to slow movement for transmitting power. So it is safe to lift heavy load. Whereas Pneumatic is used to fast movement for transmitting power as compared to hydraulic. So it is dangerous to lift heavy load.

If we want less power and quick action. Then we always use Pneumatic system but when we need more power with high accuracy. Then we use Hydraulic system. Hence, Hydraulic system has high accuracy. So Hydraulic is more prefer than pneumatic.
